The Scotland Men’s T20 World Cup coaching team has been officially named today. The squad will be led by Head Coach Doug Watson, with Glenn Pocknall joining the squad as Fielding Skills Consultant. At the moment, Glenn heads the Central Stags in New Zealand, so he is joining the squad on a short-term assignment. Both Doug and Glenn worked with Scotland during the ICC Men’s World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe. Other members of staff are Assistant Coaches Stevie Gilmour and Moneeb Iqbal, Strength & Conditioning expert Dan Sutton, Physio Dave Kershaw, and Team Managers Dr. Rajeev McCrea-Routray and Kenny Crichton. Steve Snell, Head of Performance at Cricket Scotland, sees the experience this backs, in particular with the tough conditions in the Caribbean. Scotland’s final two warm-up games will come at the NORDEK T20 TriSeries against the Netherlands and Ireland, before the World Cup. Scots have firm warm-ups in Trinidad against Uganda and Afghanistan, so have key lead-in time before their Group B opener with England on June 4. Scotland has strong backroom staff and a series of competitive fixtures in the offing to make a strong impression on the global stage.
